Rainbow Maker 2 | Optical Gadgets
Project type
Optical Gadgets
Project description
Since the dawn of humanity, we have been driven to discover.
What we perceive is never complete, never absolute. In a world where nothing is fixed and everything is in constant motion, there are endless possibilities for new discoveries.
Through a collection of optical gadgets made from glass, I aim to reveal what normally remains invisible to the human eye. These objects function as tools that invite us to observe both ourselves and our surroundings in unfamiliar ways — allowing us to rediscover and revalue what we see.
Glass has always held profound importance for humanity because of its unique ability to refract and reflect light. By observing these objects from different angles, a variety of physical phenomena emerge and become visible. This shifting perspective opens the door to new ways of seeing, and new ways of being - if you will.

RAINBOW MAKER 2
Goethe stated that colour is not fixed.
It emerges in the fragile tension between light and darkness, in a fleeting moment where shadow dissolves into illumination and perception begins to shift. Colour lives within transition. It appears at the edge of contrast, where clarity softens and emotion quietly takes form.
While looking through the RAINBOW MAKER 2, you're able to observe that colour reveals itself most vividly along the edges of contrast. Bands of blue, gold, violet and spectral light appear not within pure brightness, but at the meeting point between light and shadow. Colour evokes movement, distortion, a new atmosphere.
Within the glass object, light fractures across internal planes and reflective surfaces, generating subtle dispersions, chromatic aberrations, and spectral traces that drift through the form. Reflections of your surroundings dissolve into shifting fields of colour that appear and disappear with every change in perspective.
The RAINBOW MAKER 2 becomes an instrument of perception, a space where transparency bends into distortion, where light becomes tactile, and where colour exists as a living interaction between material, environment and the human eye.
Nothing remains static.
