Project description
Through a series of material experiments, copper became more than a metal, it became something soft and reflective. By testing different textile structures, forms, and subtle colour interventions, the work explores the tension between delicacy and strength.
The knitted copper surfaces continuously catch and transform light. Fine copper threads shimmer with movement, creating reflections that shift between warmth, shadow and a nice glow. Copper study is an ongoing project. Besides the aesthetic I'm currently still exploring the functional possibilities of this smart textile.
GEMMIES
The Gemmies exist somewhere between sculpture, textile and vessel. Their forms are designed to hold and conceal, creating intimate spaces for storing small personal objects. The softness of the textile intertwines with the reflective rigidity of copper, creating objects that feel simultaneously delicate and tactile.
